Though there is some originality to the book it comes in the form of non-original vampire myths and legends garlic, crosses, yogi bear movie sunlight etc.

Despite the fact that Raven acts more like a mallgoth than a real goth bothered me, but other than that, she was a decent character. Now sixteen, Raven is still the outcast that she found herself to be when she proclaimed her life's ambition was to be a vampire. He listens to heavy metal music and punk rock and things like that. The characters don't do the book any favours. When Raven came along, they became slightly less hippie, in that they moved into an apartment instead of living in their Volkswagon van. How are these books even published?

On another account, Raven has no character whatsoever apart from being totally shallow and self-centered. The story itself isn't too bad, but it's not terribly unique. This book was for teeny boppy girls who are hopeless romantics and fantasize an Edward Cullen will someday come to get them.

Yada yada, more time passes, and then she decides to break into someone else's house to try and find vampires. This book had me laughing all the way through. The hero enters after a lifetime and is hard to like. But at the saaaaame time she is a total freaking preppy girl. People aren't called by the names that they are given, no, the snarky protagonist has to give them an insulting nickn Someone hand me the forks.

Its very simple with not much depth to it but is a cute book. The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction. It could though, with future installments. Of course, he is a perfect gentleman, and is yet another cardboard cutout who has no purpose in life other to love Raven. It wouldn't be as bad as it is if the characters had actual depth, if the parents weren't as retarded and if the story had more meat.

My bitterness on this book comes from the fact that I wasted my time on this book. She's very shy and Raven acts as her protector. This house turned out to be his relatives that died she gave it to him.

Apparently she doesn't even know what goth is. They both like to make snide remarks about one another. But again, not the sort of laugh you want to have. The series was continued into a manga series entitled Blood Relatives. Now that I look back on it, it's okay.
